Position Openings



HEC Paris invites applications for several faculty positions in economics at the Assistant or Associate level starting with the 2011 Fall semester. 


The successful candidate is expected to undertake research resulting in top journal publications and to be an excellent teacher. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics or be near completion. We welcome applications in any field of Economics. Preferences will be given to candidates with a few years working experience after Ph.D. and have research interests that overlap with those of HEC faculty. Knowledge of the French language is not required. Salary is competitive.


HEC Paris (, France’s top “Ivy League” Business School, is located just outside of Paris, and can be reached from downtown in 25 minutes by car. The school has a core M.Sc. in Management program with 500 students entering each year. In addition, it has a Ph.D and master programs in economics, an MBA program, as well as various Executive Education programs. For four years in a row HEC Paris has been ranked Number 1 in the Financial Times ranking of European Business Schools.


The Economics and Decision Sciences department has 12 full time faculty members. Last year members of the department have had about twenty papers published or forthcoming  in top academic journals in Economics and Statistics such as  Econometrica, Games and Economics Behaviour, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Mathematical Economics, Management Science, Operations Research, Rand Journal of Economics, as well as other highly regarded international journals.
