Gauthier Valérie

While pursuing her education both in France and the United States, Valerie focused on practical and theoretical approaches to the translation of literary texts and became a specialist in the work of modern American poet, Elizabeth Bishop. Valerie's in-depth understanding of the complexities of translation and the nuances of the English language equipped her to create and lead courses in English language and literature for HEC students. Building on this experience and further drawing on her English language acumen, she founded and chaired CREA, the Center for English Resources and Activities at HEC in 1989.
