IFAC Major

CMA Track

The CMA Track enables to become a member of the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) and to prepare and take the two parts of the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) exam, in May and June of your final year.

- Part I: Financial planning, performance & control

- Part II: Financial decision making

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is North-American the professional body of reference in financial management and it is very well acknowledged internationally in large companies (MNEs). You can find more information about the IMA and the CMA on the following website:

The IMA also edits the professional journal Strategic Finance.

A prep course is offered in the major CMA Track, but siginificant additional self study is required from the students in order to pass the exams. A specific revision course is organized additionnally in April for the students who will take the exam (Part I and/or Part II) in May & June of their final year.

The registation to the exam is done individually by each student in the CMA Track who decides to take the certification. Registration fees need to be paid to the IMA, however every year 5 HEC IFAC students receive a scholarship from the IMA to cover the fees (scholarships are based on previous GPA).
